The recruitment policy is that applications are received in response to an advert placed in the print media by ZPCS. Our recruitment initiatives focus on meeting our key operational needs by filling in vacancies that arise within the Service for such groups as Correctional Officers and other technical fields.

For professionals this depends on the criteria for the post that is being advertised. In addition, members in the general duties section who attain the necessary qualifications can apply for transfer to join the technical and specialist sections depending on availability of vacancies in the selected field
Every prison has a prison clinic and a dependant’s clinic. Some of the clinics are supported by Ministry Of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) through the Results Based Funding (RBF). These facilities offer services to communities outside the prison community. For diagnosis, we have conventional laboratories and microscopy sites. We also have four facilities that are offering medical rehabilitation for both inmates, officers and their dependants.
